Announcement of 662nd Bi-weekly Assembly
1. Application of Student Activity Fund (2023/2024)

 

To encourage students to organize or participate in various activities to widen their exposure and enrich their knowledge, the College established this fund to subsidize individuals or student bodies to gain experience in organizing and taking part in an array of activities.

 

The Fund will be open for application until 31 October 2023 (Tuesday). Students who are interested in applying the Fund can refer to the application guidelines for more details (https://www.na.cuhk.edu.hk/latest-news/application-of-student-activity-fund-2023-2024-3/). Applicants must submit the online application form and necessary documents on or before the deadline, i.e. at least one month prior to the activity (regardless of whether the applicant has been successfully enrolled by then).

2. Yu Ying-shih Lecture in History 2023/24

 

To enhance cultural exchange and academic research, the “Yu Ying-shih Lecture in History” has been organised since 2007. This year, we are honoured to have invited Professor Michael PUETT, Walter C. Klein Professor of Chinese History and Anthropology, Harvard University, to deliver the following two lectures in early November:

 

1st Lecture

Topic: “Comparative Approaches to the Study of Chinese Intellectual History: Reflections on the Work of Yu Ying-shih”

Moderator: Professor CHEUNG Hiu Yu, Department of History, CUHK

Date: 2 November 2023 (Thursday)

Time: 4:00pm

Venue: Cho Yiu Conference Hall, G/F, University Administration Building, CUHK

 

2nd Lecture

Topic: “Culture and History: Yu Ying-shih, Weber, and Approaches to Comparative History”

Moderator: Professor PUK Wing Kin, Department of History, CUHK

Date: 5 November 2023 (Sunday)

Time: 3:00pm

Venue: Lecture Hall, G/F, Hong Kong Museum of History (139 seats, allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. Audience will be admitted 15 minutes before the lecture starts.)

 

All lectures will be conducted in English. Participation in person or online via Zoom is welcome. Please complete the online registration form at https://cloud.itsc.cuhk.edu.hk/webform/view.php?id=13673179, on or before 27 October 2023.
