2.  Subsidy Scheme for Summer Study Abroad

 

This scheme aims to encourage students to enrich their learning experience and broaden their horizons by attending summer schools in various overseas universities. The College hopes that such experiences can enable students to deepen their understanding of different culture of places worldwide, develop mutual understanding, and foster exchange between universities. 3.  Summer Japanese Language and Cultural Exploration Programme 2024

 

The programme aims at enhancing students’ Japanese proficiency and deepening their understanding of the tradition and culture of Kansai region (particularly Kyoto) in Japan. Ten New Asia students are selected by the College to attend a 3-week programme provided by Kyoto Sangyo University (KSU) including Japanese learning classes (elementary to lower intermediate level), cultural activities and the opportunity to meet some local students. Upon the completion of the programme, students would be awarded with a certificate of participation issued by Kyoto Sangyo University. Additionally, the group will go for a 1-week study trip in Kansai region before returning to Hong Kong. Please find more details on the college website.

4.  Explore and Craft: A Journey through Local Timber and DIY Workshop

 

The Committee on Environmental Protection of New Asia College is going to organize “Explore and Craft: A Journey through Local Timber and DIY Workshop”. Participants will visit an eco-social enterprise “HK TimberBank” to understand the operation of its factory and learn about the process from recycling local trees to turning local timber into practical, aesthetically pleasing, and creative products. Each participant can also DIY your own phone holder made with a local timber.

5.  Subsidy Scheme for Students’ Inter-Cultural Exchange Initiative (2023/24)

 

This scheme aims to encourage more interactions between students of different backgrounds and nationalities of the College. By sponsoring student-initiated events and activities, we aim to promote mutual understanding, cultural appreciation and inclusivity.  The open format is designed to stimulate creative activities that students are interested in exploring together.
