  5. The recommendation score is calculated from the scores provided by the referees.
  6. GPA score includes the examination result of 1st semester 2023-24.
  7. All raw scores (including recommendation score and GPA score) will be normalized and converted to standardized scores with the mean of 50 and the standard deviation of 10. The standardized scores will be used in the computation of the final score of the shortlisted applicants. Details of the calculation is as follows:

Step 1 – Normalizing raw scores of individual student

Recommendation scores, GPAs and interview scores of individual students are considered as raw scores in the normalization.

Normalized score = Raw score of individual student – Mean of all shortlisted applicants’ scores
Standard deviation of all shortlisted applicants’ scores

Step 2 – Standardizing normalized scores of individual student

The normalized scores are converted to standardized scores with the mean of 50 and standard deviation of 10. The mean and standard deviation will be used in the calculation of standardized scores of all short-listed applicants in the selection.

Standardized score = Normalized score of individual student X 10 + 50

Step 3 – Computing the final score of individual student

The standardized recommendation scores, GPAs and interview scores will be used to calculate final scores of applications.Different formulas will be used to calculate final scores as follows:

Final score = (Standardized GPA x 0.5) + (Standardized interview/recommendation score x 0.5)
