4. Story of Chinese Ink in the Mountain Town – Landscape Painting Programme

Landscape painting has become an independent genre since the Sui dynasty. Through the development of different dynasties, the different styles have reflected the characteristics and manner of different eras. Landscape painting has always been an expression of the painter’s spiritual world. Our programme “Story of Chinese Ink in the Mountain Town” begins with landscape painting that people express their love for CUHK where is surrounded by mountains and nature, far away from the hustle and bustle of the city. In this programme, participants will study traditional landscape paintings through the deconstruction of different techniques. The instructor will guide participants to understand the steps of creating a landscape painting, and ultimately to develop their own style. At the end of the programme, participants will be able to organize an exhibition and present their learning outcomes.

All undergraduates and full-time CUHK staff are welcome (Priority for New Asia students)!
