Two CUHK scholars were selected as Tencent’s New Cornerstone Investigators, among which is NA-affiliated Prof. He Xuhua, Professor of the Department of Mathematics. He will receive up to RMB25 million to conduct basic research for five years.
Prof. He is the Choh-Ming Li Professor of Mathematics in the Department of Mathematics and the Institute of Mathematical Sciences. His research interests include algebraic groups, representation theory and arithmetic geometry. He was awarded the Xplorer Prize (Mathematics and Physics) by the Tencent Foundation in 2020, and the AMS Chevalley Prize in Lie Theory by the American Mathematical Society in 2022 in recognition of his outstanding research achievements.
