New Asia College and the New Asia College Alumni Association jointly organised the “Exploring the Footprints of Mr. Ch’ien Mu with the Head of New Asia College – Taipei Four-Day Cultural Exchange Tour” from 14 to 17 December 2023, to explore The Ch’ien Mu House and Taipei with New Asia teachers and alumni. Led by College Head Professor Sun-On Chan, the tour enabled participants to explore the footsteps of the College founders and Taipei’s culture through visits to various historical and cultural sites such as the Sushulou, University of Taipei, Taipei Fine Arts Museum, National Palace Museum, Bopiliao Historic Block, and Ximending Red House.

One highlight of the tour was a visit to Sushulou (also known as The Ch’ien Mu House), the former residence of College founder Mr. Ch’ien Mu. Sushulou was the place where Mr. Ch’ien Mu mainly lived and lectured from 1968 to 1990. We were honoured to have received warm hospitality and detailed introductions from Professor Hsin I-yun and Professor Fu Keh-chang of the Sushulou Cultural and Educational Foundation, and Professor Chin Chao-fen of the Department of History and Geography of the University of Taipei. During the visit, College Head Professor Chan gave a commemorative speech and led the “New Asians” to sing the College Anthem to express their gratitude, admiration and remembrance of the College founders (Video).
