The Mentorship Programme of the College has come to its 23rd year. With great support from the New Asia College Alumni Association (NACAA) and our alumni, more than 250 mentors and mentees participated in the programme this year, including some new mentors. The graduation years of the mentors range between 1978 and 2018. We highly appreciate the enthusiasm and support from the trustees, teachers and alumni.

The Inauguration Ceremony of the programme was held on 28 October afternoon at Hui Kwok Hau Hall, the multi-purpose hall of our new student hostel, Mei Yun Tang. It was the first time that the ceremony was held in this venue and the participants liked this new facility very much. A briefing session on the programme was also conducted for attending mentors before the ceremony.

College Head Professor Sun-On Chan and Chairperson of NACAA Ms. Anny Wong gave their welcoming speeches at the ceremony. Along with expressing gratitude for the unfailing support from our mentors, they encouraged the mentees to cherish the opportunity to get to know different New Asians and learn from their mentors. It is hoped that they would develop strong friendships and carry forward the spirit of New Asia.

The mentors who have served the programme for more than five years were presented with long service awards. We were delighted to have invited Mr. Ng Fu-keung Dick (79/Journalism and Communication), the recipient of the Gold Award, to share his mentoring experiences.

Furthermore, the College has scheduled a Career Talks Day for the programme on 20 January 2024. A number of workshops will be held with mentors sharing their expertise with students. If alumni are interested in serving as mentors, please stay tuned for the College recruitment email in July or August each year.
