The “New Asia Lectures on Contemporary China 2023/24” was held on 27 October this year. It was our honour to have invited Dr. Ng Chi-wa Louis, Museum Director of Hong Kong Palace Museum of West Kowloon Cultural District Authority, to share his professional and comprehensive views on the topic “Inheritance and Innovation of Chinese Traditional Culture” from the perspective of a museum professional, a historian, and an arts administrator.

With over 30 years of experiences in museum planning and management in the field of arts and cultures, Dr. Ng introduced the development as well as the status of Chinese traditional culture in different times over the last century, and the importance of inheritance and innovation of Chinese traditional culture in the recent decade. The lecture was moderated by Professor Cheung Chin-hung Sidney, Associate College Head, and Professor of the CUHK Department of Anthropology.
