Our student Leung Wing-kiu (Chinese Language Studies and Chinese Language Education/4) received the “Hong Kong Volunteer Award 2003 – Outstanding Young Volunteer Award” from the Home and Youth Affairs Bureau and the Agency for Volunteer Service in recognition of her outstanding contributions and achievements in volunteer work. Wing-kiu has established the non-profit organisation “The Special Education Youth Association” which aims to harness the power of youth to promote Special Educational Needs (SEN) awareness both on and off campus, and to dispel the misconceptions about SEN in the community at large.
