| [February 2025 issue] Professor Sham Tsun-kong (71/Chemistry), a distinguished alumnus of the College, has been awarded the highest honour in chemistry and chemical engineering in Canada, the CIC Medal. Professor Sham has been an active supporter of alumni events for CUHK Alumni Association of Ontario and the Alumni Association of New Asia College, and has previously delivered science popularisation lectures for the College. Professor Sham graduated from the Department of Chemistry in 1971 and obtained his PhD in Chemistry from the University of Western Ontario, Canada, in 1975. In 1988, he was granted tenure as a Professor in the Department of Chemistry at the University of Western Ontario. Since 1999, he has overseen scientific research at the Canadian Synchrotron Radiation Facility (CSRF) located at the Synchrotron Radiation Center, University of Wisconsin-Madison in the United States. |
