NA-affiliated Professor Chan Yiu-leung David, Assistant Professor, Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology received the Collaborative Research Fund from the Research Grants Council (RGC). Professor Chan was awarded the Collaborative Research Equipment Grant for his project entitled “Live Imaging of Early Embryonic Developmental Processes at Subcellular Level with a High-throughput Dual View Light Sheet Microscope”. The fund supports multi-investigator, multi-disciplinary projects in order to encourage more research groups to engage in creative, high-quality cross-disciplinary/cross-institutional projects.

Separately, Professor Hui Ho-lam Jerome, Professor, School of Life Sciences, received the Research Impact Fund from the RGC for his project entitled “EarthBioGenome Project Hong Kong: Butterflies and the Next Generation of Scientists”. The fund aims to encourage local universities to conduct more impactful research and collaborate with stakeholders outside academia.
