New Asia College and Xinya College, Tsinghua University, Beijing have jointly organised the “New Asia College / Xinya College, Tsinghua University Summer Exchange Programme” for the first time this year, which successfully completed on 11 July 2025. The programme aims to enhance students’ understanding of the social, cultural and technological developments of the two places through a series of academic lectures, seminars and visits.

The theme of this year’s programme was “What can my discipline do for AI development?”. As part of the programme, a group of six New Asia students visited Xinya College from 30 June to 4 July 2025, during which they attended academic lectures, visited innovative enterprises and research institutes, and participated in cultural activities. Students of Xinya College paid a reciprocal visit to our College from 7 to 11 July 2025.

During the Xinya group’s visit to Hong Kong, academic lectures, as well as visits to research institutes inside / outside CUHK, the CUHK Art Museum and M+ were arranged. One highlight was a student-led presentation held on 10 July 2025 at Hui Kwok Hau Hall, Mei Yun Tang, at which students from both Colleges presented research reports on the exchange theme.
