A College Colloquium was held on 23 October 2024. It was our honour to have invited Ms. Lo Sau-chun, a College alumna and experienced Chinese teacher, to share with us on the topic “Exploring Poet Li Qingzhao’s Inner World Through her Ci”. The Colloquium was moderated by Professor Kenneth Cheung, College Dean of Students, and Professor of the CUHK Department of Chinese Language and Literature. Dr. Chan Chi-sun, Vice- Chairperson of the College Board of Trustees, introduced the speaker on that day.

During the Colloquium, Ms. Lo introduced the life story of Song dynasty poet Li Qingzhao and explored how her life experiences impacted her Ci. Ms. Lo also analysed the writing techniques and unique thoughts in Li Qingzhao’s selected poetic works. Participants of the Colloquium jointly appreciated these famous traditional Chinese literature works under Ms. Lo’s guidance.
