[November 2024 issue]
The Mentorship Programme of the College has come to its 25th year. With the great support from the New Asia College Alumni Association (NACAA) and other alumni, more than 220 mentors and mentees participated in the programme this year, among which some mentors were new participants who graduated between 1978 and 2019. Enthusiasm and support from trustees, teachers and alumni are much appreciated. The Inauguration Ceremony of the programme was held on 26 October 2024 afternoon at Hui Kwok Hau Hall, Mei Yun Tang. A briefing session explaining programme details to mentors was also held before the ceremony. College Head Professor Sun-On Chan and Chairperson of NACAA Ms. Anny Wong gave their welcoming speeches in the ceremony. In addition to expressing gratitude for the enthusiastic support from our mentors, they also encouraged the mentees to cherish the opportunity to get to know different New Asia friends and to learn from them. It is also hoped that everyone will become good confidants and carry forward the spirit of New Asia. Long service awards were presented to mentors who have served in the programme for more than five years. We were so delighted to have invited the Gold Award recipients, Mr. Gieuw On-foek Harry and Mr. Lam Cheung-wai Leo, to share their mentoring experiences and achievements. A Career Development Day under the programme has been scheduled for 11 January 2025. A number of workshops will be held, with mentors sharing their expertise with students. If alumni would like to take part in the programme as mentors, please stay tuned to our recruitment email in July or August every year or approach us anytime: Enquiry: Mr. Kelvin Cheung |
