The first-ever New Asia College Chinese Cultural Summer Camp was successfully held from 18 to 20 July 2023, with the participation of 25 outstanding local secondary schools. 48 junior secondary students attended the Camp in the CUHK, and resided in the Xuesi Hall and Chih Hsing Hall to have a taste of hostel life. Through the campus tour and ice-breaking games, the youngsters gained a deeper understanding of the College and the CUHK’s unique collegiate system. A series of Chinese cultural activities were organised, such as a Chinese martial arts class, tea appreciation workshop, sharing from a famous Cantonese opera actress, Chinese painting and calligraphy workshop, etc. A dumpling-making activity and a “Poon Choi” dinner were also arranged for participants to learn about Chinese culture.
Thanks to the generous sponsorship of the Tin Ka Ping Foundation, the Camp came to a successful conclusion. The College hopes that the participants will be able to appreciate the beauty of Chinese culture, develop their potential, and make progress in both academic achievement and cultural cultivation. We look forward to seeing you again in the College!
