The College’s 73rd Graduation Ceremony was held on 17 November 2024 at the University Mall. It was our honour to have invited Professor Kam-leung Alan, CUHK Provost  and J.S. Lee Professor of Chinese Culture, to officiate at the Ceremony.

This year, approximately 800 graduates of the College were awarded graduation certificates, with over 550 attending the Ceremony in person. Live streaming was also made available to graduates and parents who were unable to attend in person.

College Head Professor Sun-On Chan delivered the opening remarks and extended his heartfelt congratulations to all graduates. The officiating guest, Professor Alan Chan, then addressed the graduates, encouraging them with the words of Mr. Ch’ien Mu. He emphasised that in the rapidly-changing 21st century, graduates should uphold the spirit of New Asia, cherish the values of diversity and inclusion, broaden their horizons, and develop critical thinking. He stressed that with knowledge as a foundation, and a balance between emotion and reason, they would be well-equipped to face future challenges. Professor Chan also wished the graduates a bright future and encouraged them to strive for advancement.

At the end of the Ceremony, all guests and graduates followed the tradition by walking along New Asia Road to the New Asia Amphitheatre. A group photo was taken at the New Asia Amphitheatre, marking the end of this memorable event.
