Jointly organised by New Asia College and New Asia College Alumni Association, and co-organised by New Asia Middle School, the first lecture of the “New Asia College Cultural Lecture 2023/24” was held on 25 November 2023.

It was our honour to have Professor Siu Kwok-kin, Department of Chinese Literature, Hong Kong Chu Hai College to serve as guest speaker for the first lecture. Professor Siu gave a lecture titled “Historical Development of Hong Kong over Two Millennia” which was moderated by Mr. Lam Chi-kong, Member of the Committee on New Asia College Cultural Talks. In the lecture, Professor Siu shared the profound impact of China on the development of Hong Kong from ancient times to the present, enhancing participants’ understanding and awareness of Hong Kong’s historical development.

The lecture was well received by audiences from all walks of life, alumni and students, as well as students from New Asia Middle School. They attended the lecture either in person or online via Zoom. Participants actively engaged in the Q&A session and had a wonderful interaction with the speaker.
