On 3 November 2023, Professor Lau Kwok-ying, Emeritus Professor of the Department of Philosophy, CUHK, and a renowned phenomenologist, was invited to deliver the bi-weekly assembly on the topic “Philosophy and Intercultural Understanding”, exploring how we can understand each other’s different cultures. On another front, with the full support of the College’s newly established “Professor Yeung Chung Kee Cultural Integration Award Scheme”, students from the Department of Philosophy organised a film screening entitled “A Passage to Philosophy” on 10 November at Hui Kwok Hau Hall of “Mei Yun Tang”, in which Professor Lau gave a personal account of his philosophical journey, serving as the best proof of “cultural integration”.
