Professor Chung Tsz-shun Eric Named 2025 Class of Society of Industrial and Applied Mathematics Fellow

NA-affiliated Professor Chung Tsz-shun Eric, Professor of the Department of Mathematics and Executive Director of the Zhizhen School of Interdisciplinary Mathematical Sciences, was named a Fellow of the Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics (SIAM) in the class of 2025. He was awarded in recognition of his research contributions to numerical analysis and multiscale methods, and is the only scholar from Asia to receive this recognition this year.

Professor Chung’s research focuses on applied and computational mathematics, particularly numerical methods for partial differential equations, multiscale modelling and simulations, and scientific computing. He is the recipient of the 2017 Hong Kong Mathematical Society Young Scholar Award, 2022 ICCM Silver Medal of Mathematics and 2025 Frontiers of Science Award.
