[February 2023 issue]

The New Asia Young Scholars Scheme, which started in 2013, aims at deepening students’ understanding of College history and spirit, empowering them to become responsible individuals towards society as well as equipping them with qualities that contemporary intellectuals and leaders should possess.

We have come to celebrate the ten years’ milestone shared by the College and past young scholars, by organizing a barbeque gathering on 7 January 2023 evening in a bid to bring together past participants and look forward to more advancements. The expenses of the reunion were generously sponsored by College trustee Ms. Wong Oi-yee Michell and Mr. Lam Chi-chiu Roland.

The gathering was attended by past young scholars, as well as College trustee Mr. Wong Ho-chiu, Mrs. Wong Ho-chiu, Head Prof. Hector Sun-On Chan, Dean of Students Prof. Cheung Kam-siu Kenneth and College Secretary Ms. Luk Man-chung Jean. Excitement, laughter, and warmth from the fire filled the event. Thanks to the great support and contributions from tutors, alumni and friends, the Scheme has sailed through adversities and challenges over the years. A number of young scholars shared their unforgettable memories and learning experiences at the gathering, among which some even burst into tears which marked touching moments. Let’s look forward to more new pages and gatherings in the decades to come!
