NA-affiliated Professor Ren Wei, Professor of the Department of Mechanical and Automation Engineering, and Professor Nathalie Wong, Croucher Professor of the Department of Medicine and Therapeutics, received funding support from the inaugural Research, Academic and Industry Sectors One-plus (RAISe+) Scheme launched by the Innovation and Technology Commission of the Government. Their projects are titled “Intelligent Laser Sensing System for the Energy Industry” and “Innovative CAr T Cells for Hepatobiliarypancreatic cancers [i-CATCH]” respectively.
The RAISe+ Scheme, launched in October 2023, aims to help local universities transform and commercialise their research and development outcomes, and to facilitate collaboration between the Government and sectors within academia and industries. The scheme provides funds, on a matching basis, to university research teams that have the potential to become successful start-ups, and will allot a maximum of HK$100 million to each approved project.
