Thanks to the generous support of Tin Ka Ping Foundation, the first block of the three-block “Mei Yun Tang” complex was completed and put into operation in 2023. As a token of gratitude, the block was named “Tin Ka Ping Hall”. The opening ceremony of the Hall was held on 24 November 2023, officiated by Professor Rocky S. Tuan, Vice-Chancellor of CUHK, College members, Chairman and board members of Tin Ka Ping Foundation, and College members.

During the ceremony, Professor Tuan expressed his gratitude for the Foundation’s donation. “It is my sincere hope for students that while enjoying the new facilities of the Hall, they can also bear in mind the kindness of Dr. Tin Ka-ping and the Foundation. Let Dr. Tin’s example be an inspiration for students to care about others and contribute to society as much as they can.”

In his speech, Mr. Tin Hing-sin, representing the Foundation, recalled the longstanding partnership between the Foundation and New Asia College. He mentioned that the Foundation was particularly impressed with the College’s “Replant Spiritual Roots, Nourish our Talents” programme. “When we got to know that the College was facing financial challenges in completing the hostel project, we were more than pleased to provide support to it to ensure the rolling out of our collaborative Chinese culture promotion programme. We look forward to our close partnership with New Asia College and joint efforts in continuing my father’s legacy and aspiration in Chinese culture promotion and improving the quality of education in Mainland China.

Tin Ka Ping Foundation made a generous donation of HK$15 million to the College to support its “Replant Spiritual Roots, Nourish our Talents” programme, the set-up of new scholarships and bursaries, and the construction of the College’s new hostel.
