To commemorate the 20th Anniversary of the New Asia Alumni Golf Association, the Association hosted the “New Asia Alumni Golf Association 20th Anniversary Celebration” on 7 May 2025. The event was held at the Jockey Club Kau Sai Chau Public Golf Course and has attracted nearly 50 alumni, friends and their family members. Participants began arriving in the afternoon. Despite the intermittent heavy rain, everyone remained enthusiastic. Matches took place on the South and North Courses where players showcased their skills on the wet fairways. They encouraged one another, exchanged experiences, and demonstrated outstanding sportsmanship, marking a meaningful and memorable event. After the competition, attendees had dinner at a nearby seafood restaurant. The Association was honoured to have College Head Professor Sun-on Chan, Associate Head Professor Tom Wan and College Secretary Miss Jean Luk celebrating the achievements together. In his speech, Professor Chan expressed gratitude to the Association for its invitation and commended its dedication over the past two decades in supporting scholarships and overseas exchange programmes which have benefited many students in need. The New Asia Alumni Golf Association was founded in 2005 by alumni Dr. Raymond Lee, Mr. Kenneth Keung, Mr. Hubert Ng and Mr. Richard Tam. That same year, it won its first championship in the CUHK Golf Day. The chairmanship was later taken over by Mr. Eric Poon, under whom the Association has continued to thrive. Among the 17 tournaments, New Asia has won the CUHK College Cup nine times and has frequently received the “Most Active Participation Award”, while members have earned individual accolades several times. |
