Since 2002, the Seminar on Chinese Moral Education has been organised by New Asia College to promote Chinese traditional virtues and moral education to the younger generations. Every summer, a group of primary and secondary school principals, teachers and education officials from various regions of the Mainland attend a series of seminars, discussion forums, visits and exchanges with local school principals and teachers during the seven-day themed programme in Hong Kong. Over 60 participants from the Primary School Group and the Secondary School Group are generously sponsored by the Tin Ka Ping Foundation and Mr. Chan Chi-sun Chinese Culture Fund respectively.

The 20th Seminar on Chinese Moral Education, themed “樸”, was successfully held from 2 to 8 July 2025, and was attended by over 30 participants from primary and secondary schools, or education research units of various Mainland regions including Shanghai, Chongqing, Hubei, Anhui, Guangdong, etc.

During the programme, seven talks were delivered by the following speakers: Dr. Yu Kam-por, former Director of General Education Centre of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, Dr. Jenny Hung of The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, Professor Wang Pei of The University of Hong Kong, Professor Leung Yuen-sang of the CUHK Department of History, as well as Professor Huang Yong, Professor Cheng Chung-yi and Professor Zheng Zemian of the CUHK Department of Philosophy.

In addition to lectures, visits to local schools and organisations, including the Tin Ka Ping Foundation, New Asia Middle School, Carmel Alison Lam Primary School and ICAC Headquarters, were also arranged for participants to gain a deeper understanding of the moral education implementation in Hong Kong, and share experiences with local counterparts. Teachers from local schools were invited to attend sharing sessions on 5 July to talk about moral education experiences in their schools, which the Mainland participants found deeply inspiring.
