Sixty seven years ago today marks the beginning of the cooperation and partnership between New Asia College and Yale-China Association. How did this historic bond commence?
Founded in 1901 by Yale University graduates and faculty as a non-profit organization, one of the early goals of Yale-China Association were to bring modern education to China. In 1953, the Association dispatched Prof. Harry Rudin of Yale University to East Asia and to meet with Mr. Chien Mu to explore possibilities for future collaborations.

Rev. Charles H. Long, representative of the Association, visited New Asia in April 1954 to deliberate on the details of the cooperation, including raising funds for constructing the Farm Road campus, providing administrative subsidies, and delegating Yale graduates to the College to teach English courses each year. The Association also sends members to serve as representatives on the Board of Trustees of the College. Reverend Long was the first representative, serving from 1954 to 1958.
