To enhance cultural exchange and academic research, the “Yu Ying-shih Lecture in History” has been organised since 2007. This year, we are honoured to have invited Professor Wang Ming-ke, Guest Chair Professor of History at Peking University and Academician of Academia Sinica, to deliver the following two lectures in November:
1st Lecture
Topic: A New Perspective on the Origins of Chinese Civilisation: A Human-Ecological Approach
Moderator: Professor Lam Weng-cheong, Associate Professor, Department of History and Department of Anthropology, CUHK

Venue: Lecture Hall, G/F, Hong Kong Museum of History
(This lecture is co-organised with Hong Kong Museum of History)
Seats: 139 seats#, allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. Audience will be admitted 15 minutes before the lecture starts.

2nd Lecture
Topic: The Human Ecology of Civilisation and Historical Memory
Moderator: Professor He Xi, Associate Professor, Department of History, CUHK
Date: 17 November 2025 (Monday)
Time: 4:00 p.m.
Venue: Cho Yiu Conference Hall, G/F, University Administration Building, CUHK
All lectures will be conducted in Mandarin.
