Bring Your Spirit to a Place of Tranquillity: Cultural Tour and Forest Therapy at Tsz Shan Monastery
Located in Tai Po, Tsz Shan Monastery is home to the world’s second tallest Guan Yin statue at 76 meters. This Chinese Buddhist monastery is dedicated to preserving the teachings of the Dharma as preached by Śākyamuni Buddha, providing a serene environment to purify the heart.
The Committee on Student Counselling and Development of the College will organise a Cultural Tour and Forest Therapy at Tsz Shan Monastery. The event consists of two sessions:
- Guided Tour (1.5 hours): Participants will gain insights into its rich history and culture at Tsz Shan Monastery.
- Forest Therapy (1.5 hours): Blending Buddhist teachings with Western forest therapy, this experience encourages participants to slow down, engage with nature, awaken their senses, and perceive the world from a different perspective.

Time: 1:15p.m. – 5:30p.m. (Event Time: 2:00p.m. – 5:00p.m.)
Location: Tsz Shan Monastery, Tai Po
*Shuttle bus will be provided between CUHK and Tsz Shan Monastery
Assembly time: 1:15p.m.
Assembly & Dismissal Place: Exit C, University Station, CUHK (near Route 2 School Bus Stop)
Fee: Free of charge
Language: Guided Tour (Cantonese with English translation by student helper); Forest Therapy (Cantonese group and English group)
Quota: 40 participants (First-come, first-served)
