Gala Dinner in Celebration of the 75th Anniversary of New Asia College
The College held the “Gala Dinner in Celebration of the 75th Anniversary of New Asia College” in December 2024, bringing together alumni, friends, staff, and students to celebrate the College’s anniversary.
Anniversary Publications
To celebrate the 75th Anniversary of New Asia College, the Anniversary Publication Committee will compile and publish the writings of Professor Ho Chien-tsung. To provide readers with a deeper understanding of Professor Ho, we have specially invited Ms. Shum Wing-fong (76/MA in Chinese Language and Literature, New Asia Institute of Advanced Chinese Studies) to write a memorial article. The article begins with a calligraphy piece gifted to her by Professor Ho, expressing her recollections and respect for him.
Column “Heterogeneity in a Single Theme”
The theme of this issue is “What If” written by two alumni Ms. Chung Hang-yu Vanessa (17/English) and Mr. Yang Sze-ngai Raymond (17/Government and Public Administration). Vanessa told the story of “him” through fragmented yet delicate descriptions, while Raymond weaved the lyrics of the popular song “What If” throughout his writing, sharing his journey of confronting, accepting, and being understood.
Contributions
In this issue, we are honoured to feature an article by Professor Lee Yun-woon (64/Fine Arts), a member of the Committee on College History. Professor Lee introduced the “elegance” and “secularity” of the works of Mr. Ting Yin-yung who is known as the “Matisse of the East” and the “Modern Bada Shanren”.
