(山城奮進青年基金獎學金)

The Foundation’s mission is to encourage students to embody the Founders’ ideals in their lives, and to advocate the spirits of New Asia and CUHK with an innocent heart.

「奮進青年」取名自創校先賢錢穆老師的「新亞校歌」歌詞—「艱險我奮進，困乏我多情。千斤擔子兩肩挑，趁青春，結隊向前行。」名字上的山城，既指地勢，也點出香港中文大學山巖海深、地厚天高的靈氣，也是孕育中大人的山城精神—不怕逆境、溫厚質樸與重視人情。「奮進」所指的不是單單的「挨苦」，而是紀念與學習歷代先賢在艱難裡為了理想而堅忍的心態、情操和能耐。承如創校先賢所言，「青年」學生是明日的希望，也肩負為人類和平與社會幸福謀前途的責任。

本基金旨在鼓勵在學青年以生活實踐創校先賢的願望，以赤子心弘揚新亞及山城的精神。

• 2022/23 Year GPA of 2.0 or above (Preferences are given to 3.0 or above) (2023/24 Term 1 GPA would be considered for year-1 applicants);
• Outstanding achievements in extra-curricular activities showcasing leadership, potential, and contribution and commitment to Hong Kong society; and
• Submit an implementation proposal (1–2 pages) or a video (less than 3 minutes) expressing your understanding of the ideas of the College Founders, and how these ideas can be applied in society nowadays. Preferences would be given to candidates who can synergize the Founders’ ideas and non-formal education by embodying them in student activities, such as orientation camps, large-scale student activities and College anniversary celebrations. Candidates should also showcase the way they practice New Asia or CU spirit in their daily lives, and how individuals and society-at-large can benefit from it.
• 2022/23 學年平均積點須達2.0或以上(達3.0或以上者優先考慮)(一年級同學則考慮其2023/24 上學期平均積點);
• 具學業以外的卓越成就，展示領導才能和潛質，以及對香港社會有貢獻和承擔；及
• 呈交約一至兩頁的執行計劃書，或不長於三分鐘的短片，表述其對創校先賢思想的理解及於現世的應用。如能將創校先賢的思想與大學非形式教育活動結合，並且具體化成不同學生活動，如：迎新營、大型學生活動、校慶等，會作優先考慮。申請人亦須於文章或影片中闡明其日常生活中如何實踐新亞/中大山城精神，以至能令個人和整體社會得益。
