Film Screening of “Lessons of Tolerance”

Film Screening of “Lessons of Tlerance

The Opening Film of European Union Film Festival (EUFF) 2024

Joint Presentation by New Asia College and the European Union Office to Hong Kong and Macao

Exclusively for CUHK Students, Staff and Alumni

We are delighted to announce that our College, in collaboration with the European Union Office to Hong Kong and Macao, is hosting the second annual film screening event.  This year, we are privileged to present the Opening Film of the European Union Film Festival 2024 “Lessons of Tolerance”.  We cordially invite you to join us for this unique cinematic experience at our new student hostel, Mei Yun Tang.

This film is a dark comedy featuring a determined small-town schoolteacher on a mission to rescue her family from financial troubles and the brink of separation by enrolling her initially homophobic family in the government’s “Lessons of Tolerance” program, designed for European integration.  As they embark on this transformative journey, the family finds themselves welcoming a vibrant LGBTQ activist into their home, who will challenge their deep-seated stereotypes and beliefs.
