Application for College Scholarships (Term 1, 2022/23)

College Scholarships (Term 1, 2022/23) are now open for application. Interested students please submit your online application and other required documents by  5 October 2022 (Wednesday)  Late submission will NOT be accepted.

Please submit your supporting documents via email to nac.sb@cuhk.edu.hk in PDF format before the deadline.

英語義教獎學金

Good standard of English (level 5 or above in English Language in HKDSE,or equivalent). Recipients need to commit no less than 160 hours of voluntary English tutoring services to underprivileged students in a year.

Mr. and Mrs. Pikai Tchang Memorial Scholarship

張丕介先生暨夫人紀念獎學金

$10,000

Final-year undergraduates

Outstanding performance in General Education Courses (both University GE and College GE). Applicants are required to submit an article of 300- to 500-word, in English or Chinese, reflecting on the third New Asia School Regulation (“新亞學規第三條”) “The very essence of seeking knowledge and conducting oneself lies in one’s love of his/her family, teachers, country, nation and mankind. The cherished objective of seeking knowledge and conducting oneself lies in the grasp of the culture of mankind and one’s contribution to the cause of society.”

 

One award is reserved for student majoring in Economics

Brave Wind Scholarship

乘風獎學金

Year 2 or above undergraduates (preference is given to English majors)

GPA of 3.0 or above, active participation in volunteer services for the underprivileged, and with financial needs

Brave Heart Scholarship

GPA of 2.5 or above, active participation in social services, and with financial needs

Scholarship for Outstanding Performance in Debating Activities
傑出辯論表現獎學金

Year 2 or above undergraduates

GPA 3.0 or above,outstanding leadership, performance and contribution in social services and extra-curricular activities. Preference will be given to those with outstanding performance in debating activities

Yale-China Association Scholarship

雅禮協會獎學金

$10,000

2

Year 2 or above undergraduates

GPA 3.3 or above, outstanding leadership and commitment to community services in Hong Kong

  

2. How to apply

Applicants are required to submit an Online Application and submit a copy of the confirmation email with the below listed supporting documents via email to nac.sb@cuhk.edu.hk on or before the said deadline. Otherwise, the application will be cancelled.

^1 Submission of transcript is required. Unofficial transcript downloaded from CUSIS is acceptable. 

^2 Recommendation form should be completed by a teaching staff serving in the University. Please ask your referee to complete the online recommendation form by sending them the link with your name, SID and major. The form should be submitted on or before the application deadline. 

^3 Required financial documents:

For students who have applied for government TSFS/FASP in 2022/23 – A full copy of your TSFS / FASP application 2022/23 which includes:

1. Acknowledgment or receipt of you application submitted online to Student Finance Office

2. Copies of income proof of i) your parent(s) and unmarried sibling(s) residing with you and/or your parent(s) or ii) yourself and your spouse

3. Copies of bank account statement of yourself and your parent(s)/spouse

4. Any other relevant documents (e.g. Proofs of housing cost or medical expenses) you attached to your application

Other students – the below documents of the applicant and ALL household members from 1 March 2022 to 31 August 2022:

1. Income proof (e.g. Income statement / salary bank transfer record / self written income statement etc.)

2. Bank account record/statement

3. Documents to show the rental payment or monthly installment of housing 

Note: If you are having difficulties in providing your financial documents of your household members, you may submit a self-written statement to us.

^4 Proof of participation in activities/social services could be, for example, letters, certificates or photos.
