Academic Lecture 
The College and the CUHK School of Life Sciences co-organised the 10th Yen Kwo-Yung Lectures in Life Sciences this March. Professor Christian R. Voolstra, Professor of Genetics of Adaptation in Aquatic Systems, University of Kanstanz, Germany was invited to share with our students, staff and the general public about the crises confronting reefs, and remind us to rethink our relationship with marine life. 

Interview 
Professor Lee Yun-woon (64/Fine Arts), former Chairperson of the CUHK Department of Fine Arts and Senior College Tutor reviewed his art journey, retrospected the origin and development of CUHK’s art education, and shared his insights into Chinese painting and calligraphy. 

Column “Heterogeneity in a Single Theme” 
The theme of this issue is “Failure” and is written by two alumni Dr. Chan Pak-ka (07/Chinese Language and Literature) and Mr. Yang Sze-ngai Raymond (17/Government and Public Administration). Pak-ka suggested that success showed persistence only, and only by facing oneself in the abyss of failure could one forge true character and inner strength. Raymond opined that organisations should treat failure as a learning opportunity, driving changes through leaders’ self-healing process and psychological safety.
