Face-changing performance by the New Asia Kung Fu Society

New Asia College successfully held the “New Asia Homecoming Camp LITE 2026” from 11 to 12 July 2026, attracting a total of 74 participants. Of these, 47 alumni, whose graduation years ranged from 1988 to 2025, spanning nearly four decades and fully demonstrating the strong cross‑generational bond of New Asia alumni returning to campus.

Unlike the previous large‑scale reunion camps organised in conjunction with College Anniversary celebrations, this year’s LITE version was conducted in a smaller, more streamlined format. It allowed alumni to return, at their own pace, to familiar hostel spaces, revisit memories of their student days, and share their personal New Asia stories with family members and friends. The College also arranged the opening up of sports facilities, enabling campers to make free use of selected facilities, and hosted a Poon Choi welcome dinner in the evening, so that alumni could reconnect and catch up in a relaxed atmosphere.

During the dinner, College Head Professor Sun-On Chan mingled and chatted with alumni, creating a lively and warm atmosphere. In addition to the Poon Choi feast, a face‑changing performance by the New Asia Kung Fu Society was staged, adding a joyful touch. Participants spent an enjoyable evening in a casual setting with their former classmates, roommates and families.

Many participants returned to New Asia this time with spouses, children, or other relatives and friends. Through staying in the hostel and dining together, they shared stories of their hostel life and campus experiences from years past. For many alumni, this was not merely a one‑night return to the hostel but also a precious opportunity to reconnect with their alma mater and share the New Asia Spirit with the next generation.

The entire event ran smoothly, thanks to the enthusiastic participation of alumni. Although the LITE version of the camp was more modest in scale, it responded more directly to alumni’s wishes to “come back to stay one night and reconnect in a relaxed way”, and provided a solid foundation for the College to continue organising various forms of alumni reunion activities in future. New Asia College will continue, through homecoming camps and other types of alumni events, to welcome more alumni back to campus, and to further sustain the bonds and fellowship among New Asians.
