The New Asia Young Scholars Scheme aims at deepening students’ understanding of College history and spirit, nurturing them into responsible individuals towards society as well as equipping them with qualities that contemporary intellectuals and leaders should possess. The Scheme has generously been sponsored by Mr. Lam Chi-chiu Roland and College Trustee Ms. Wong Oi-yee Michell for a number of years.

This year, the Dinner was well-received by guests, including Mr. Lam Chi-chiu Roland, Ms. Wong Oi-yee Michell, President of the College Alumni Association Mr. Mo Kwan-leung Kenny, Vice President Ms. Wong Chui-hung Anny, and voluntary mentors including College Trustee Mr. Wong Ho-chiu, Professor Ho Man-wui Richard, Professor Ting Sun-pao Joseph, Dr. Chui Pui Chee and Ms. Cheung Wang-yim Lavander who were invited to attend the Dinner to share the joy and happiness. Past Young Scholars also joined the Dinner to witness this important moment.

The Inauguration Dinner marked the completion of the one-year training of the 12th batch of New Asia Young Scholars, and the commencement of training of the 13th batch. In the coming year, the 10 new Scholars will have the opportunity to participate in an array of academic and cultural activities, including College meetings, talks and alumni activities, to communicate and learn from teachers, alumni and trustees of the College. We wish the New Asia Young Scholars a fruitful and prosperous year ahead, during which they will strive to promote Chinese culture and become role models of “New Asians”.
