[August 2026 issue]
This year, the College collaborated for the first time with the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City, to organise a one-week “French Language Learning and Vietnamese Cultural Exploration Programme” in Ho Chi Minh City. Through French lessons, field trips and cultural exchange activities, the Programme aimed to equip students with basic French language skills, introduce them to Vietnamese culture, and enhance their cross-cultural understanding.
The Programme was successfully held from 15 to 22 June 2026, with 15 New Asia College students participating. Six intensive French classes were conducted progressively, covering pronunciation, basic grammar and everyday conversations. Multimedia teaching materials and interactive activities were incorporated to enhance students’ interest and engagement. The students participated enthusiastically throughout the Programme and appreciated the instructors’ dedicated guidance. In addition, field trips to various historical and cultural landmarks in Ho Chi Minh City further enriched their understanding of local culture through its history, art and religion, etc.
The cultural exchange activities were thoughtfully planned by local students, featuring Vietnamese cuisine and traditional attire. Through games and hands-on activities, students not only forged friendships with their Vietnamese peers but also experienced the unique charm of Vietnamese culture, as well as the warmth and hospitality of the local people.
Overall, the Programme successfully integrated language learning with cultural immersion, providing students with a rewarding and memorable cross-cultural learning experience.
