“Traveling through the Era of Modern Japan” Historical and Cultural Study Tour

Funded by “UGC Funding Scheme for Global Learning & Experience Programmes”, this programme aims to provide students with an immersive learning experience through historical and cultural site visits and activities in Tokyo and nearby Kanto Region. The program seeks to:

  • Deepen students’ understanding of modern Japanese history, culture, and society.
  • Foster cross-cultural communication and mutual understanding between students from New Asia College, CUHK and Rikkyo University.

 

Programme includes:
– Visits to historical heritages and museums
– Eco-trip in Gunma prefecture (TBC)
– Exchange activities at Rikkyo University
– Sponsorship from the college for students to plan and participate in various traditional and cultural activities on their own

12 NA local undergraduate students

 

Accommodation

Campus hostel at Rikkyo University (Tachikawa Memorial International Hall)

 

Fee

HK$4,800* (including round-trip air-ticket#, accommodation and activities). Participants need to pay for meals, partial transportation and personal expenditures.

* The exact amount is yet to be confirmed. Participation fee HK$800 will be refunded upon the completion of the programme.
# All participants should travel by the same flight on both outbound and inbound.

 

Criteria

– Priority will be given to students who have completed “New Practical Japanese I” or above in CUHK, or equivalent to N4 level or above.

– Interview is required.

– Participants need to conduct relevant study for the field trip as instructed by the tour-in-charge before departure and provide a detailed presentation at the field trip location.

– Participants have to submit an individual study report and a group vlog video upon the completion of the programme.
